Job title - General Manager-Sales

The GM-Sales is responsible for achieving his/her sales target in the assigned territory by identifying prospective customers, servicing the new/existing customer and maintaining a professional relationship them. He/She would be responsible for driving domestic as well as International business.

The key responsibilities are as follows:

  • Identify prospective customers in the market, evaluate their business potential and facilitate vendor registration, if required
  • Responsible for brand promotion and lead conversion
  • Forecast sales and plan sales targets accordingly
  • Pursue business opportunities from existing customers and new projects.
  • Build a strong professional relationship with key customers to ensure top of mind recall.
  • Proactively respond to customer complaints/rejections by coordinating with various stakeholders within GGPL and communicate with the customer accordingly
  • Represent GGPL in conferences/exhibitions to promote our products and improve our visibility and brand image
  • Provide periodic reports to management through CRM application
  • Keep abreast of changing industry trends, rules and regulations
  • To prepare Monthly travel plan to ensure adequate customer meetings in line with sales value targeted from them to increase the Order Intake and build stronger customer relationship.
  • To carry out competitive analysis in the assigned territory to position our products and close more deals .
  • To involve in Business planning and Annual Sales budget preparation with market analysis and submit sales projection with monthly phasing for the territory assigned .
  • To maintain a strong sales funnel to achieve the sales target and present to management on weekly basis
  • Set KRA’s for all Direct reports and review them at the end of the performance year.
  • Assumes responsibility for the development of the team members through Job Description, PMS process, identification and implementation of training needs, career progression & succession plan
  • Responsible for documentation & compliance of the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS) for the department

Location: Chennai

Experience required: 15- 18 years in sales from relevant industries (Gaskets/ Pumps/Valves/ Mechanical Seals/ Heat Exchangers/ refineries)

Educational Qualification: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing or business administration or equivalent
Master’s degree in sales, marketing or business administration.
Must have advanced computer knowledge and skills
